Job Overview:
We’re seeking a Senior QA Engineer with a strong background in quality assurance and a genuine passion for gaming. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining and improving the quality of our software products, ensuring our gaming experiences are smooth, reliable, and immersive. You’ll collaborate closely with development, product, and design teams, establishing and refining QA processes, building robust automated test suites, and mentoring junior QA team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test Strategy and Planning:

    • Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases for functional, integration, regression, and performance testing, tailored for gaming experiences.

    • Collaborate with stakeholders to define quality requirements for upcoming features and releases, aligning with the expectations of a gaming audience.

    • Lead the development of test strategies, advising on best practices and identifying areas for risk mitigation.

  • Test Automation:

    • Build and maintain automated test suites to improve test coverage, reduce regression time, and enhance release efficiency in a fast-paced gaming environment.

    • Use advanced testing frameworks and tools to automate complex test scenarios, ensuring scalable, reliable test execution across game components.

    • Identify opportunities for automation in manual test cases, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines to streamline game release cycles.

  • Bug Tracking and Reporting:

    • Manage and prioritize reported issues, working closely with development teams to resolve critical bugs that could impact gaming experiences.

    • Conduct root cause analysis for high-impact issues and collaborate on corrective actions to prevent recurring quality issues.

    • Regularly generate and communicate quality metrics and status reports to stakeholders to maintain transparency.

  • Mentorship and Team Leadership:

    • Mentor junior QA team members, sharing best practices, automation techniques, and troubleshooting strategies specific to gaming QA.

    • Lead test planning sessions, code reviews for test scripts, and retrospectives, driving continuous improvement in QA processes.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Serve as a primary QA point of contact within cross-functional teams, facilitating the seamless integration of QA processes with development, product, and design.

    • Advocate for quality throughout all project phases, ensuring gaming projects meet the highest standards before release.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of QA experience with a focus on test automation, ideally within the gaming industry.

  • Strong expertise with testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG) and tools for API and load testing in a gaming context.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) and version control (e.g., Git).

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach and a gamer’s mindset.

  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality products in Agile environments, especially for gaming or interactive applications.

  • Strong communication skills and experience working effectively with cross-functional teams.
