The Role:

As a Director of Finance, you’ll be responsible for overseeing FP&A (financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial risk management). This role will play a key role on the leadership team and will report to the CFO. 

Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Drive the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks.

  • Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning.

  • Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner to senior management.

  • Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast while providing variance analyses.

Budget Management:

  • Facilitate the annual budgeting process and collaborate with department heads to prepare departmental budgets.

  • Monitor budget implementation and recommend adjustments as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines.

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and management reports.

  • Maintain compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and standards.

  • Support the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors as needed.

Financial Strategy:

  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.

  • Evaluate and advise on the financial impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies, and regulatory action.

  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls.

Risk Management:

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks.

  • Monitor and manage investment and capital expenditure decisions.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Manage and mentor the finance team, ensuring high performance and professional development.

  • Set targets for and supervise all accounting and finance personnel (management accountants, internal auditors etc.)

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the finance department.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.

  • Proven experience (typically 8-10 years) in a senior financial management role, preferably as Director of Finance or similar.

  • Strong analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

  • Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to influence decisions and drive change.

  • Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Excel skills.


    In the U.S., the salary range for this position is $157,000 to $197,000 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
